Comp Systems raffle winner to pay it forward

The Comprehensive Systems, Inc. Grain Raffle winner claimed her money over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Mary Hofkes of Wisconsin received her money after Jean Shannon pulled the winning raffle ticket on Oct. 1. The 400 bushels of corn was donated by Brian Cole of Coles Farms and Nile Funk, Curry Seeds representative.

Hofkes said she was very fortunate to win and she will be paying it forward with the winnings collected from Cole. She said she gives to local charities in Florida and in Wisconsin.

Hoefkes and her husband, John, have supported the grain raffle fundraiser for all three years.

Comprehensive Systems, Inc. thanks everyone who participated and supported the Grain Raffle.

Established in 1970, Comprehensive Systems is an accredited, community-based, private, non-profit corporation that provides support to more than 300 individuals with special needs. Their array of services include residential, vocational and day services in a five-county area, with facilities in Mason City, Cedar Falls, New Hampton and Osage in addition to Charles City.
