Nora Springs to hire Prichard this week

State representative to serve as city attorney

The city of Nora Springs is prepared to change its city attorney.

The City Council will vote Tuesday, Dec. 8, on accepting current City Attorney Mark Walk’s resignation and approve the appointment of Todd Prichard to the post.

Prichard, whose general practice law office is based in Charles City, represents District 52 in the Iowa House of Representatives. He is also a minority leader for the House Democrats.

Prichard was an assistant Floyd County attorney for the late Normand Klemesrud. He was the lead drug prosecutor, his biography on his legislative website says.

Prichard is also a Infantry Officer in the Iowa National Guard, started his military service in the Army in 1996 and has deployed overseas four times, including a tour in Iraq.

Mark Walk, whose law office is in Osage, is also the Mitchell County attorney.

The City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Nora Springs City Hall.
