Childbirth class series begins Jan. 7

The Prepare Childbirth class series starting Jan. 7 at the Floyd County Medical Center is for moms due between Jan. 28 and April 28.

The class is held 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28. Call to register.

The class is free for those who plan to deliver at FCMC, $65 for those delivering elsewhere.

Mothers seeking refresher information should register for dates of any given class. The cost is $50 for a refresher class For information contact FCMC OB Dept. 1-641-228-6830 ext: 270 Other classes available are:

n Early Pregnancy: information on the first months of pregnancy

n Cesarean Birth Awareness: information on caesarean birth

n Our New Baby: for older brothers and sisters of the new baby These are scheduled upon request. The is $15 for each class

Immunizations

Four childhood immunization clinics are scheduled this month at the Floyd County Public Health office, 1003 Gilbert St., Charles City. The clinics on Jan. 12, 22 and 27 are from 9 a.m. to noon. The clinic on Jan. 7 is from 1-4 p.m.

The Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group will meet at 4 p.m., Jan. 9 at St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City. Call Floyd County Public Health with questions 641-257-6111

WIC clinics

Floyd County Women, Infants, and Children food and nutrition service will have two clinics this month. They will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 27 at 203 Brantingham StreetCharles City. Appointments are required. Call 1-800-6575856.
