County hires former Hardin County prosecutor
Staff Report
Floyd County Attorney Rachel Ginbey has hired a former Hardin County attorney to assist her.
Randall Tilton began his new job on Jan. 11 as the assistant Floyd County attorney.
“He was the Hardin County Attorney for eight years and brings a vast array of experience to the Floyd County Attorney’s Office,” Ginbey said. “Mr. Tilton has done numerous jury trials from the simple misdemeanor level all the way up to felony level cases. Mr. Tilton also has experience with the civil side of legal issues.
“Floyd County is fortunate to have the opportunity to put his knowledge and expertise to use.”
In November, Tilton lost his re-election bid as Hardin County attorney to another former Hardin County attorney Richard Dunn, 3,272 to 2,240. Tilton and Dunn are each Republicans.
The County Board of Supervisors approved Tilton’s hiring on Jan. 11 at an annual salary of $65,000.
Assistant county attorney Denise Patters is no longer with the county.
