Huskies win state class 1A cheerleading title

7_S_HUSKYCHEER7_S_HUSKYCHEER1No. The Nashua-Plainfield cheerleaders didn’t enter a slam-dunk contest. But as indicated by the photo above taken during a cheerleading competition hosted by Charles City last month, they may have been a slam-dunk contest favorite. On Saturday, the Husky cheerleaders competed at the Iowa Cheerleading Championships held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. Competing in the Class 1A division, the Huskies won a state title, their first in six years. Above, the team strikes a gold-medal-biting pose while taking a photo with its championship trophy.
