Gene LaBounty celebrated 40 years in the real estate industry on Sunday with a gathering of friends and coworkers from Cedar Valley Iowa Realty & Auction Co.

LaBounty was born and raised in Charles City and chose to stay in the area to begin his career.

“I love the people and the community. They’ve been very good to me,” LaBounty said.

The celebration at Pub on the Cedar was also a ‘thank-you’ to coworkers at Cedar Valley Iowa Realty, who helped LaBounty and his wife Cindy prepare their home for the September 2016 flooding.

Business owner and fellow realtor Jerry Hegtvedt congratulated LaBounty on his time in the industry, calling him an asset to the company.

Cedar Valley Iowa Realty’s Charles City office includes owner Hegtvedt, realtors LaBounty, Wendy Luft and Vicky Soboluck, office manager Lisa Sonberg and auction manager Tad Conrad.
