Jadon Wulff remembered

By Thomas Nelson, tnelson@charlescitypress.com

A little over one year ago a Charles City student died tragically, but he has not been forgotten.

Jadon Wulff, 14, and his grandmother, Marilyn Wulff, 75, died in a crash on Highway 18 in October 2016.

Jadon was a freshman at Charles City High School and many of his classmates learned of his death on a Friday evening over social media.

“At first I didn’t believe it at all,” said Dajon Richard, who said Jadon was one of his best friends. They had known each other since they were in third grade.

“He played soccer and bowled,” Richard said.

“It was hard to believe it then,” Richard said. “Someone that you actually talk to everyday after school or during school, hearing that he had passed away was something that’s really hard. It was devastating.”

Now his friends are raising money to buy shirts in memory of Jadon.

“Jadon was a good friend to all and a loved one to his family we will always remember and never forget Jadon Wulff,” says the GoFundMe page that has been set up to raise money for the shirts.

Previously Richard and his friends had made bracelets in honor of Jadon, but now, having been inspired by shirts in honor of Logan Luft, they wanted to the same.

“We just thought that would be a really cool idea,” Richard said. “I just wanted to put more effort into it for Jadon.”

Richard is hoping to raise $800 to buy the shirts. They haven’t ordered or made the shirts yet, but they do have the design.

Any money left over after they buy the shirts is going to Jadon’s family, Richard said.
