Charles City Community Volunteer Recognition this Friday

A chance for the public to show appreciation to Charles City volunteers, as well as find out who will be named the 2018 woman of the year and man of the year, will be available Friday morning at the annual Community Volunteer Recognition.

The event, organized by Community Revitalization and the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 8 a.m. at the Senior Center, 900 Hulin St. The doors will open at 7:30 a.m. for a light breakfast, and tickets are available in advance at the Community Development Office, 401 North Main St., or at the door the day of the event.

Volunteers will be recognized by various non-profit organizations in town, as well as “Caught in the Act” nominations of people seen doing an unselfish act for others this past year.

The event is anticipated to take about an hour and will be capped off by announcing Community Revitalization’s volunteer of the year, as well as the Chamber’s woman of the year and man of the year.
