A Mason City man and woman were arrested and charged with felony assault for an incident that allegedly took place in July at a bar in Rockford.

Jacob Orin Gamble, age 36, and Amber Lynn Myers, age 30, were both arrested on Aug. 4 for allegedly “taking down, and hitting and kicking” a man on July 25 at the Twin Strike Emporium Bar in Rockford. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office report said the alleged victim had serious injuries to his face.

The criminal complaints were filed in Floyd County District Court on Aug. 1, a week after the alleged incident took place. The electronic arrest files and other files appeared on the Iowa Courts online database as having been filed Sept. 4 for both Gamble and Myers.

Both Gamble and Myers were charged with committing willful assault causing serious injury, Class C felonies. Bond was set at $10,000 each and each was released after posting 10% cash, or $1,000 each.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Gamble and Myers the morning of Monday, Sept. 14, although typically a preliminary hearing is canceled if the county Attorney’s Office files a trial information listing the official charges and setting an arraignment date.
