Jim Wright announces bid for Iowa House District 58

Jim Wright, a Sumner Republican, announced his election campaign for Iowa House District 58 on Saturday. The district 58 Chickasaw County and portions of Floyd and Bremer counties.

“I strongly believe in the concept of the citizen legislator and think the time is right for me to do my part in keeping Iowa a great place to live,” said Wright.

Wright is a recently retired teacher and information technology manager with 40 years of experience in Iowa public and parochial schools. Most recently, his duties were district technology coordinator and high school director of bands for Sumner-Fredericksburg Community Schools.

Wright will be seeking his first term in the Iowa House. Wright lives in Sumner with his wife, Linda, who is also a recently retired science teacher and coach. Both Wrights are lifelong residents of Iowa.
