Charles City school to hold community meeting on renovation bond

The Charles City Community School District will hold an informational meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, in the high school cafeteria to update the community about the “Revitalize” plan, which would facilitate a major renovation for the high school building and the construction of a school auditorium.

The plan will depend on funding from issuing $28.5 million in bonds that voters will decide whether to approve in the upcoming election on Nov. 7. The school district Board of Education voted unanimously to put the question on the ballot.

Residents of the school district are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about what the project will entail, why the district considers it a necessity, and what effect it will have on property taxes.
