On Tuesday, May 21, the Soifer Family McDonald’s organization of Charles City presented a $41,389 check to the Ronald McDonald House Charity at the Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois location in Iowa City.

The funds were raised between the Soifer Family’s 17 restaurants through the Give a Little Love program in which customers purchased hearts for $1, $2, $5 or a larger amount of their choosing, and the Shamrock Shake promotion in which 25 cents from each shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry purchase went toward the donation.

Members of the local RMHC team said they were overjoyed by the donation made possible by the Soifer Family McDonald’s and the supportive community surrounding their restaurants.

Soifer Family McDonald’s owner/operators, Scott and Lisa Soifer said, “Our team and community love supporting our local Ronald McDonald House Charities. Giving back to the community is one of our top priorities, and we are very proud to contribute to an organization that makes such a huge impact on the lives of those across Iowa and Illinois.”

Scott Soifer has served on the RMHC EIWI board for many years, and Lisa Soifer serves on the Des Moines RMHC board.

The Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City provides support and accommodations for families so that they can stay close to their child receiving medical treatment. Once a guest, families may stay until their child is discharged from the hospital.
