State Patrol identifies woman killed in crash near Nora Springs

The Iowa State Patrol has identified a woman who was killed in a crash early Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, on the Avenue of the Saints near the Floyd County-Cerro Gordo County line.
Samantha Grant of Waterloo, age 29, was identified as the driver.
According to the State Patrol, Grant’s 2022 KIA Telluride was eastbound on U.S. Highway 18 at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, near Exit 195 to Nora Springs, when the vehicle “left the roadway and entered the median for an unknown reason,” the report said.
“The vehicle struck a bridge pillar and became fully engulfed in flames,” the State Patrol report said. “The vehicle was occupied by one person who was found to be deceased in the vehicle.”
