Deborah Lee (Keiser) Nelson

Deborah Lee (Keiser) Nelson, 68, of Red Wing, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 10, 2020 at her home. Due to COVID19 a celebration will be held at a later date.

Deb was born in Charles City, IA on April 13, 1951, in Charles City, IA to L. Thomas and Shirley (Trowbridge) Keiser. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1969.Before Deb started school, she traveled with her parents for a year when her Dad was in the Leo Peiper Dance Band that traveled the southern United States. Deb loved her family, horses, pets, birds, reading, quilting, and creating miniature gardens and dollhouses. She was very talented in all her interests. Deb enjoyed having a good time with all and there were many fun adventures with family trips, quilt shop hops and quilt retreats.

Deb worked as a Court Business Process Specialist for the State of Minnesota for 35 years. First as a court scheduler and then as an IT Training and Development Specialist.

Deb and her husband hosted two exchange students, Monica Stave from Norway in 1989 and Caroline Mollesand, Sweden in 1990. Then they started their own family with Jennifer and Nicole.

Deb is survived by her husband of 36 years, Perry, daughters Jennifer Nelson, Mora, MN and Nicole Nelson of Winona, MN, Monica Stave, Norway, and Caroline Mollesand, Sweden. Her mother, Shirley Keiser, Charles City, IA, mother-in-law, Violet Nelson, Cannon Falls, MN, sister, Denise Holzer, Charles City, IA, brother-in-law, Ivan Nelson, Cannon Falls, MN, Much loved nieces Jessica (Tony) Jeffries, Osage, IA, Katie (Zach) Sullivan, Charles City, IA, one great niece, four great nephews and special cousins, Terrie, Doug, Bob, Lori, Ginny and Sandy.

She was preceded in death by her father, L. Thomas Keiser, father-in-law, Carl Nelson, grandparents, Del and Ethel Trowbridge and Lyle and Mildred Keiser, Aunt Shirley Felt, and Aunt Joan Cook.
