Florine M. Jensen

Florine M. Jensen, 85, of Charles City passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 at The Bridge Church in Charles City with Rev. Adam Whitty of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memorial Gardens in rural Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Florine Mabel Jensen, the daughter of Adolf and Beulah (Hoover) Bangert, was born Sept. 25, 1935 on a farm in Webster City. At an early age she moved with her family to Ventura where she graduated from high school in 1953. On Sept. 25, 1954 she was married to Edwin Jensen at the Evangelical Free Church in Clear Lake. They lived on the Jensen family farm north of Britt for 15 years before moving to Nora Springs where they owned and operated the Nora Inn. In 1965, they moved to Charles City. Florine was a certified nursing assistant in the area and a bookkeeper for her son’s business. She enjoyed her family, sewing and painting.

Florine is survived by her husband, Edwin; two sons: Ricky (Barb) Jensen of Greene and Randy (Sandra) Jensen of Toledo, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Denise Jensen of Waukee; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way in January; a brother, Shiray Bangert of Dayton, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Nels Jensen of Britt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger; and grandsons: Brian and Brady Jensen.
