Arlene J. Reed Puhl

Funeral services for Arlene Puhl, 97, of Charles City, formerly of Greene, will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greene with Father Ralph Davis officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Greene. Masks are required.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Arlene was born on Aug. 5, 1923 in Greene the Daughter of James Garfield and Anna (Helt) Reed and passed away on Dec. 17, 2020 at the Chautauqua Guest Home #2 in Charles City.

Arlene received her education in public school graduating from Greene High School in 1943. She studied for one year with the Hamilton Business College. Arlene was blessed with Leo Puhl to spend many years of her life with.

She worked for Oliver Corporation in Charles City for eight years and for Salisbury for two years. Arlene also, enjoyed working alongside Leo on the farm.

Arlene traveled to Europe, Alaska, Canada and across the United States. She was a very kind and generous person that was very concerned about her family. She always wanted to know their needs were met. Arlene payed for the funerals of many of her family members.

Living family members include one sister, Ruby Hobert of Allison and several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law Eleanor Reed of Greene, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her life partner, Leo, her parents, four brothers: John, Orville, Donald, Merlin; five sisters: Mabel, Velma, Lavon, Bernadine, Vera.
