Eileen was born at home on May 29, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI, the youngest child of Harold and Alma (Traube) Robinson. She was educated in the Milwaukee County schools and graduated in 1947 from West Milwaukee High School. After high school she worked at Allis-Chalmers in the mail department and had a route twice on day on the executive floor up until she was married. On Oct. 7, 1950 she was united in marriage at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City to Kenneth E. Ross. To their union, two children were born. Eileen and Kenneth farmed in Floyd County. She was a very active farmer; she handled livestock and enjoyed driving tractor. In her later years she said driving tractor eased her aches. Eileen never wanted to go back to city living because she enjoyed the peace and quiet in the country.

Eileen was a very active member of St John Evangelical Lutheran Church. She held several office positions, taught 6th grade Sunday school for about 35 years (last few years paired with Erik Hoefer for confirmation teaching), served as funeral home coordinator for the church, was a leader of women’s bible study and was president of church cluster. Eileen was a charter member for the starting of the New Hope Lutheran Church that she attended for the last 10 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sue Ross of Charles City; grandchildren, Ryan Dean (Marcy) Ross of Charles City and Carri Ann Ross of Riceville; great-grandchildren, Ava Marie and Finn; nephews, Les Robinson, Jerry Robinson, Richard Kegel, Jim Kegel and Dennis sharp; niece, Dawn Lesprance and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Ross; son, Kenneth D. Ross; parents, Harold and Alma Robinson; brothers, H. Eugene Robinson and H. Dean Robins Jr.; granddaughter, Jenna Lynn and mother-in-law, Eleanor Ross.
