Johnnie ‘Junior’ Simpson

Johnnie “Junior” Simpson, 78, of Charles City, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City. Inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery with immediate family in Charles City.

Johnnie Junior Simpson, the son of Anthony and Elizabeth (Mehmen) Auchstetter, was born on September 12, 1942 in Charles City. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1961. After graduation he joined the United States Army National Guard.

Johnnie worked at White Farm Equipment for over 30 years until its closure in 1993. He then worked at Fort Dodge Animal Health until his retirement in 2005. Johnnie enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. Above all, he loved his time he spent with his grandchildren.

Living family members include his son, Mark (Christina) Simpson of Hugo, Minnesota; granddaughter, Megan Simpson; and grandsons, Mark and Anthony “AJ” Simpson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Shannon Rugger.
