Donna R. Crooks

Donna R. Crooks, 86, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2021, in Independence, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home. Those in attendance at the visitation and funeral will be asked to please wear a face mask.

She was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Greene, IA to Doyle and Lorraine Vorhes. She was a graduate of Marble Rock HS. She married Wendell W. Crooks on March 20, 1955, in Greene, IA. They were married for 27 years before Wendell’s passing in 1982. She loved to visit with friends and family, do word search books, and tend to her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her three siblings. She is survived by five daughters: Coleen Merrill (Jim) of Independence, MO, Carla Tidemanson of Vancouver, WA, Cindy Eckenrod (Keith) of Charles City, Carol Carson of Mason City, and Crystal Meins (Kevin) of Haverhill, MA. She also has 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
