The daughter of Dave and Esther (Green) Jorgensen, Beth Marie was born on Oct. 4, 1945 in Northwood, Iowa. She grew up alongside siblings, Larry, Marilyn, and Elaine and graduated from Northwood High School. She then enrolled in Beauty School in Des Moines.

On Aug. 29, 1970 Beth was united in marriage to Ervin “Gene” Boelsen at First Lutheran Church in Northwood. Together they would be blessed with four children and 50 years of marriage.

For the first three years of their marriage Beth and Gene lived outside of Charles City before settling in Nora Springs, where they’ve lived ever since. For many years Beth offered daycare services to area families and cherished the years spent with her daycare children.

Beth was guided through life by her strong faith in the Lord. She was faithful to scripture and her daily devotionals and spent countless hours in prayer with family and friends. Throughout the years she has been involved in numerous church groups, but many will remember her time spent with Hanford Community Church and Osage Christian Women.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her husband, Gene Boelsen; sons, Jesse (Julie) Boelsen and Jacob Boelsen (Erin Luther); son in law, Doug Castleberry; grandchildren, Cameron Boelsen, Carter Boelson, Zach Boelsen, Nathaniel Castleberry, Braden Boelsen, Colton Boelsen, and Adelyn Boelsen; great granddaughter, Raidyn Boelsen; sisters, Marilyn (Rev. Walter) Probst and Elaine (Ray) Zobel; sister in law, Judy Jorgensen; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Esther; son, Aaron Boelsen; daughter, Jeanette Castleberry; and brother, Larry Jorgensen.
