Lorraine Rezentes, 82, of Floyd, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center in Osage.
A funeral service for Lorraine Rezentes will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 29, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Chaplin Al Polito from St. Croix Hospice officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Lorraine Shirley Rezentes was born on May 14, 1939 to Walter and Marie (Reetz) Wilson. She was the mother of Charles Thompson and John R. Dotson. Lorraine was united in marriage to Joe Rezentes in 2011.
Lorraine attended school in Charles City and went on to get her LPN degree. While working as an LPN she became the administrator of Harmony Haven in Mason City, and when the owner closed Harmony Haven, Lorraine continued working as an LPN at Good Shepard. She also owned and operated Lorraine’s Pet Grooming and Kennel.
Lorraine’s hobbies included crocheting (especially snowflakes), making homemade goat milk soaps, reading, gardening and canning. She enjoyed showing visitors her garden and flowers around the yard, going to junk stores and collecting egg plates. Lorraine liked country music and played keyboard and ukulele. She enjoyed attending music jams and nursing homes where she played and sang with her husband Joe and son John.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Joe; two sons: Charles Thompson and John (Barb) Dotson; three grandchildren: Tim Thompson, Alisha Thompson and James Dotson; brother, Danny Wilson; sister, Anita Jessen; and adopted sister, Brenda Schweiger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Larry and Delmar Wilson.
