Gary ‘Woody’ Woodworth

Gary “Woody” Woodworth, 78, of Charles City, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A memorial service for Woody will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Patty Kellogg officiating.  Family and friends will gather one hour before the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Gary “Woody” Lee Woodworth, the son of Hubert and Marie (Springer) Woodworth, was born Feb. 21, 1944 in Charles City, Iowa. He worked for the city of Charles City in the Street Department for 32 years before his retirement.

Gary loved going to the casinos and playing Sizzling Sevens, and he had a passion for buying cars and fixing them to sell.

Living family members include his wife, Sandy Woodworth; children: Troy Woodworth, Todd Woodworth, Tammy (Trey) Roberts and Linda (Gary) White; grandchildren:  Michael Lensing, Amy (Wes) Waechter, Jordan Woodworth, Tyler Woodworth and Kim (Aaron) Ashlock; five wonderful great-grandchildren:  Carter, Kaylee, Clayton, Carson and Conner; brother, Ralph Woodworth; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jesse Cero; four sisters: Diane, Mary, Roberta and Carolyn; and two brothers: Richard and Robert.
