Roger John Heit

Roger John Heit, age 78 of Frankfort, MI, passed away on July 29, 2022. He has been cremated and a “Celebration of Life” will be held in the summer of 2023 on Crystal Lake in Frankfort, MI.

Roger John Heit was born on Oct. 19, 1943, the son of Roman John and Evaline Clara( Hobert) Heit. He went to school at IC and CCHS (class of “61) in Charles City, IA. He graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, IA, with a degree in chemical engineering,and received an MBA from Central Michigan University. He was hired out of college at Dow Corning in Michigan,where he spent his whole career. Roger worked as a chemical engineer in marketing, sales, and called on clients around the world.

He loved to be involved in the community and in retirement volunteered at the local food bank, was treasurer of his Unitarian Church, and built houses with Habitat of

Humanity. Roger married Judy Marianetti on Aug. 29, 1971.They lived in Chicago and moved to Midland, Michigan after their daughter was born. They spent most weekends at their cottage on Crystal Lake, where they retired. Living family members include his wife of 50+ years of Frankfort, his daughter, Stephanie (wife Petra Kuppers) of Ypsilanti, MI; his brother-in-law, Stephen Marianetti (wife, Barbara) of Northbrook, IL; two sisters, Joyce (Jerry) Newton, and Miriam Leaman of Charles City, IA; one brother, Gary (Grace) Heit of Evansdale, IA, and several nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Evaline Heit, and parents-in-law, Steve and Betty Jane Marianetti.
