Tom was born to Lois Kleinschmidt and Earl Quackenbush on Sept. 18, 1949 in Greene, IA. Even at a young age, Tom’s vigor for life was second to none. His free-spirited nature was best observed while he was riding his motorcycle. After graduating from high-school, Tom mastered his craft working in construction. Through his passion to build, he developed the skills and expertise allowing him to build his very own home where he and his beloved, Pauline, shared their lives together. Tom’s nurturing heart was embodied through his love for his four daughters, Cindy, Connie, Wendy, and Vicki.

When Tom and Pauline weren’t tending to their acreage and four-legged babies, you’d find Tom laid back in his recliner watching football and rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes or Raiders. Tom was surrounded by many close friends with whom he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and many nights filled with playing cards.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, Pauline Gleason; four daughters Cindy Merriss (Rick), Connie Bergman (Terry), Wendy Perrott (Mike), and Vicki Ries (Dan); many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great children, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his mother Lois Palmer; brother Tim Palmer (Coleen); sister Tracy Weaver (Dennis).

Tom was preceded in death by his father Earl; brother Terry Quackenbush.
