Janane Ebert
Janane Ebert, 77 years old of Rockford, Iowa passed away at Nora Springs Care Center, Oct. 14, 2022.,
Janane Faye Ebert was born Feb. 28, 1945 to Lois (Clausen) and Earl Ebert in Alta, Iowa. They lived in Germantown, Iowa till she was five years old. Her family moved to a farm near Washta, Iowa. She graduated from Willow School in 1963. In 1967, she graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska with a degree in Elementary Education and Music.

She married Larry Bennett on June 11, 1967. They resided in LeMars, Clinton, and Goldfield before divorcing in 1973. She and her daughters moved to Forest City and worked at Winnebago before starting an in-home Preschool. They moved to Leland then to Alta. In Alta she worked at the Assessor’s Office while building her own house. She started a Pre-school at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church while being choir director. She also started a Lutheran Singles Group for the area churches. She had a sideline business with Timber House Baked Goods and loved selling Watkins. She enjoyed directing the Sweet Adelines and other community choirs.
She met and married Don Pedersen in 1983. They moved to Sac City and then bought a farm in Corning Iowa and moved there in 1984. They divorced in 1987. She moved to Creston, Iowa to go back to teaching. She moved to Elk River Minnesota for teaching in the Lutheran School Community. She was called to teach in Aurora Colorado. She married and then divorced John Franklin. She eventually moved to Englewood Colorado and started a Kindermusik business.
She moved to Quimby Iowa in 2000. She started the Quilting Adventures quilting shop in 2001.
She eventually moved to Cherokee Iowa and then to Rockford Iowa. Jan enjoyed giving piano lessons wherever she lived. She loved playing organ for church. She even was a substitute organist for other churches where she lived.
Her first love was her service to God in church, singing in the choir: if not directing, organist, Sunday School teacher. She loved baking and sewing. She loved playing the piano and the organist: sometimes at the same time. She enjoyed playing tennis, bicycling and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Kadera ( Russell, Rockford Iowa: ) and Denise Revis (Scott Charlotte, NC) four grandchildren (Eric (Hikari) and Kara Revis, Thomas and Rebecca Kadera), two brothers Jerry (Lynn) Ebert (Washta, Iowa) and Eugene Ebert. Five nephews: Joshua, Justin, Adam, Noah and Kevin Ebert.
Janane is preceded in death by her parents and nephew (Jerad Ebert) Her memorial service will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church in Charles City, Nov. 5, 2022 at 10 a.m.
