Mitchell Ray DeGeus

On Nov. 18, 2022 Mitchell Ray DeGeus was called home to our Lord and Savior. He passed away at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Mitchell Ray DeGeus was born Feb. 9, 1969 to Jackie and Ray DeGeus at the hospital in Charles City. He moved to Comprehensive Systems in Charles City when he was 12 where he received his education and his High School diploma from the Charles City High School.

Mitch was the light in a room; he was quick to throw you an air kiss, a big hug or sign ‘I love you”. Mitch was a special person who could teach anyone the meaning of love, joy, happiness and contentment.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jackie and Al Jacobs of Ellendale, Minnesota; siblings: Kelli (Jeff) Ungs of Naples, Florida, Sheri Howieson of Ellendale, Minnesota, Angela (Stuart) Bohlman of Owatonna, Minnesota, Mitch (Pam) Jacobs of Mankato, Minnesota, Mike Jacobs of Waseca, Minnesota, Melissa (Ed) Wencl of Ellendale, Minnesota; step-mother, Mary DeGeus of Charles City; step-siblings: Jessie (John) Frana of Cedar Rapids and Jake (Shelli) DeGeus of Mazzeppa, Minnesota; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Ray DeGeus; brother-in-law, Duane Howieson; and his grandparents.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the amazing care Mitch received from Comprehensive Systems.
