Allen Cross

Allen Cross, 85, of Charles City, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A private family inurnment will be held at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Allen Roger Cross, the son of Charles and Margaret (Monroe) Cross, was born on Oct. 29, 1937 in Charles City. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Diane Tomsic on Nov. 14, 1959.

Allen served in the National Guard. He worked at Oliver and White Farm and in his early years he was a butcher. He was a Vikings and Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Living family members include his wife, Diane; son, Rodney Cross of New Hampton; daughter, Ranee Cross of Mason City; granddaughter, Samantha (Tony Lindley) Cross and her son Hudson all of Grafton; brother, Jerry (Mary) Cross; and sister, Lavon Varner; along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Aldon Cross; and sister, Anna Mae Frein.
