Angela ‘Angie’ Jean Kettwig

Angela “Angie” Jean Kettwig, 50 of Colo, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

On April 5, Angie gave the gift of life through the generous act of organ and tissue donation. Four recipients received the gift of her heart, liver and kidneys. Angie will also help others through life enhancing gifts of tissue.

Angie was born May 12, 1972, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Gary and Sandra “Sandie” (Meier) Quade. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City. Angie graduated from Charles City High School in 1990 and from NIACC in 1992 with her associate degree in business. She furthered her education at William Penn University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business management. Angie worked for Remax Realty in Ames before going to work for Global State Mortgage in Ames as a Senior Processor and Mortgage Loan Originator. She loved her work and was jokingly referred to as the “detective.”

Angie was full of life and always was on the go. She loved being a “sports mom” and supporting her two daughters in everything they did. She was devoted and would provide anything the girls needed. Angie was a beloved daughter and sister and was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone. She was truly rich in friends. Her smile, laughter, and her goofy personality would always make for interesting times! Angie was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and in her spare time she enjoyed attending truck pulls and motorcycle rides.

Angie is survived by her daughters, Gracie Kettwig and Abbie Kettwig both of Colo; her parents, Gary and Sandie Quade of Charles City; her brother, Mike (Tammy) Quade of Charles City; her nephew, Brayton Quade; and her nieces, Taylor and Riley Quade. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin and Lucinda Meier and Virgil and Vivian Quade; and her best friend, Ranae Hejna.

A visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Visitation will also be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church (200 South Main Street) in Charles City. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, also at the church with Pastor Russ Leeper officiating, visitation will also be one hour prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed at www.StJohnCharlesCity.org. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.
