Michael R. Handt, 67, of Charles City died at home.

Services will be held at a later date.

Michael “Mike” Robert was born on Nov. 8, 1956 in Charles City the son of Robert and Wilma (Koebrick) Handt. He graduated with the class of 1975 from Charles City High School. He then received his bachelor degree in Marketing from UNI. He was employed by several companies including Pamida, Charles City, Hy-Vee, and McDonalds. He then owned and operated his own lawn care business. He enjoyed working out at the Y playing tennis and golf.

Surviving Mike is his sister Teri and her husband David Nelson from Mound, Minnesota.

Preceding him in death are his parents and grandparents.
