Marilou Dautant

Marilou Frances (Crandall) Dautant, 90, of Katy, Texas, died June 17, 2024. She was born Aug. 16, 1933 in Powersville, Iowa, to William and Nina (May) Crandall and grew up on farms in the surrounding areas of Charles City.

Marilou was a 1951 graduate of Charles City High School. After living in Tulsa, OK, and working as a secretary she moved to Caracas, Venezuela, and was united in marriage to Anibal Dautant in 1955. The couple had four sons.

Living family members include three sons: Federico (Belkis), Carlos (Yrvinia), Luis (Isabel); grandchildren: Frances, Anibal, Andrea, Yordi, Martina, Guillermo and Leandro; one sister Phyllis Gabel; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son Anibal; her parents; nine brothers: Robert, Ralph, Chuck, Jim, Don, Larry and three who passed in infancy; and two sisters: Julia and Jerri.

Marilou loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her smile and energy lit up every room she was in, her laughter was contagious, and she will be greatly missed forever.
