A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home on Saturday. A luncheon will follow the service at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, Iowa.

Lynne Marion (Grant) Schwartzkopf, the daughter of Lloyd and Jane (Dunlevy) Grant, was born on Sept. 23, 1955, in Waukegan, Illinois. Lynne had a very loving and generous heart. Her family and friends were the most important to her and she loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lynne lived in various locations growing up as her father worked for NASA along with the United States Army. Lynne’s family eventually landed in San Diego, California where she would meet her husband and begin their family. In 1991, Lynne and her family moved to Charles City, Iowa.

Throughout the years, Lynne worked several manufacturing jobs where she accumulated many coworkers who became family.

Lynne had a love of sharing music that meant a lot to her. She wouldn’t miss a Pentatonix concert within a five-hour drive with her granddaughters. Lynne had a passion for animals and sharing to help find their owners or new homes. She loved Christmas and all that came from it. She would bring games for all to play while requiring all to wear matching Christmas PJ’s. There was never a school play, concert, sporting event, fair event, or family gathering that Lynne wouldn’t attend.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Schwartzkopf; daughter, Jesi (Jamie) Carolan; son, Lee (Shelby) Schwartzkopf; grandchildren: Kristyn (Tony) Rodriguez, Kaitlyn (Shaun) Morris, Madi (Lally) Pellymonter, Trevor Carolan and Colton Crane; great-grandchildren: Leo and Eli Morris; brother-in-law, Mark Schwartzkopf, sisters-in-law: Sarah (Denny) Nixt, Julie (John) Sivill; along with many nieces and nephews. She also left her two fur babies: Bella and Baily.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen; and fur babies: Dori, Tinker, Zelda, Gus, Daisy and Duke.
