Robert McFarland, Jr.

Robert McFarland, Jr., 63, of Charles City, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2024.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at the VFW in Charles City.

Robert James McFarland, Jr., the son of Robert Sr. and Clara (Taylor) McFarland, was born on Aug. 3, 1961, in Waterloo, Iowa. Robert served in the United States Navy from 1979-1984. He then worked at TIMET in Henderson, Nevada for 27 years until his retirement.

Robert was united in marriage to Regina “Gina” on March 21, 1987. The couple were married for 35 years and were blessed with three children, Stacy, Victoria, and Taylor. Robert was a Kansas City Chiefs fan, and loved camping, cars and bird watching.

Living family members include his children: Vicki (Lance) Jung, Taylor McFarland, and Justin Rimer; grandson, Jackson Rimer; sister, Ruth Ungs; brother, Tim (Rhonda) McFarland; and Gina McFarland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stacy Mae McFarland; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Tom Kern; and sister, Euela Smith.
