LeRoy C. Rover

LeRoy C. Rover, 86, of Charles City, Iowa, passed away Sept. 15, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

A funeral service for LeRoy Rover will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Paul Phillips from the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home on Friday.

LeRoy Charles Rover was born May 15, 1938 in Green, Iowa to John and Minnie (Kusain) Rover. He joined the National Guard in July 1956 where he served for seven years.

LeRoy was united in marriage on February 28, 1960 in Clarksville, Iowa to Sharon Bohner. This union was blessed with one son, Lanny.

LeRoy worked at White Farm Factory for several years before moving on to his passion of farming. He was a dairy farmer for many years.

LeRoy was a master mechanic and skilled in many other trades as well. He also loved hunting and working in his vegetable garden.

Living family members include his wife of 64 years, Sharon Rover; son, Lanny (Shannon) Rover of Altoona; grandchildren: Brandon Rover and Stephanie Rover; two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brother, Larry Rover of Independence, Missouri.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Rover; and two brothers: Robert Rover and Donald Rover.
