Jerry Lee Ott, 76, of Marble Rock, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Walter F. Bohl Community Center in Marble Rock.

Jerry was born on Oct. 17, 1948 in Charles City, IA to Harold and Matilda (Love) Ott. He graduated from Rockford High School and then was drafted into the United States Navy. Jerry served during Vietnam from 1968-1970 and when he talked about his service, he referenced the ship he was on being a “floating gas station,” because it was where other ships refueled. Jerry met the love of his life, Linda (Hauser) Ott when they were teenagers and they married shortly after graduation on Aug. 10, 1968 in Charles City. To their union, two daughters were born: Melissa and Angela. The couple made their home in Marble Rock. Jerry worked at White Farm in Charles City and doing road construction before he began working at Hormel in Austin, MN. Jerry worked at Hormel for 25 plus years until retirement.
Jerry was fondly called “Elvis” and “Fonzie,” because of the way he styled and slicked back his hair. Jerry loved taking his 64 Chevy Impala to car shows in the surrounding area and even won several trophies from the car shows. He also enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and keeping his lawn in pristine condition by mowing at least three times a week. Jerry was a proud veteran and former member of the American Legion.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Ott of Marble Rock; daughters: Melissa (Delmer) Fenton of Rockford and Angela (Brian Keith) Ott of Marble Rock; brother, David (Beth) Ott of Marble Rock; grandchildren: Madison (Frankie Marino) Fenton, Cole (Kaylyn) Fenton, Tyler (Audrey) Keith, Dylan (Kaylee) Keith, Gabrielle (Landon Arends) Keith and Caitlin (Corey) Jones; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Logan, Everlee, Kinzlee, Grayson and Adalyn and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
