Dorothea Gunderson

Our loving mother and grandmother Dorothea (Dottie) Gunderson, 86, passed away peacefully Dec. 31, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Dotte was born July 11, 1938, in Ionia, Michigan to parents Dewy H. Cain and Helen J. Cain (Clouse).

Dottie lived a life filled with love and commitment as a beloved wife to Master Gundry Sargent Eugene (Gundy) Gunderson. They were married on Oct. 27, 1976. She was a devoted stay at home mom raising six children of her own and four stepchildren. She was the heart and soul of her family.

Dottie is survived by her sons Mickey Montgomery, Patrick Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Thor Gunderson, Stacey Gunderson, Eugene Gunderson, Sig Gunderson. Two daughters Tammy Dralle and Whitney Gunderson and numerous grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Master Gundry Sargent Eugene (Gundy) Gunderson and son Christopher Montgomery.

Dottie was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many, and her presence brought joy to those around her. Dottie was known for her kind heart, unconditional love, strength of spirit, and unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. Dottie’s presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain eternally, and cherished memories will forever be held in the hears of her family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Jan 7. Funeral service will at 2 p.m. on Jan. 8 located at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel immediately followed by interment at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
