Vickie Lynn Holm

Vickie Lynn Holm, 70, of Greene (formerly Osage), passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Vickie’s life will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City.

Vickie Lynn (Debban) Holm was born as the first child of Oscar (Jr.) and Donna (Fiser) Debban on May 9, 1954, in Charles City, Iowa. She grew up in Waterloo and Charles City, Iowa. She attended Charles City High School. During this time is when she met the love of her life, Dale Holm. Dale and Vickie were united in marriage on July 31, 1971, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They started their family and initially made their home in the rural Charles City area and later moved to Osage where they continued to raise their four children.

Vickie worked as an Activity Director and Coordinator at various nursing homes in the Northern Iowa area throughout her career, most recently at the Dumont Wellness Center. During retirement she chose to continue working and transitioned into a part-time home care provider. Vickie truly loved what she did and working with the elderly.

Vickie’s greatest pride and joy in life was her family, who she literally would have done anything for. She loved spending time with her family and attended as many of their activities as she could. She enjoyed listening to music, singing, dancing, gardening and most of all her beloved pets throughout the years.

Vickie is survived by her four children: Rebecca (Paetyn) Holm-Meynig of San Diego, CA, Adam (Carla) Holm of Parkersburg, IA, Scott (Kim) Holm of Welcome, MN and Travis (Lindsay) Holm of Greene, IA; her only sibling, her sister, Tina Cira-Debban, children Sydney and Kole of Hiawatha, IA; 13 grandchildren: Michelle (Sam) DeBoer, William (Bailey) Aukes, Tyler (Taylor) Aukes, Adam S. Holm, Cierra (Greyson) Fraser, Dustin and Daniel Holm, Kassie, Emma and Anna Holm, Aubrie Obeimier, Adri and Eyla Sheppard; 10 great-grandchildren: Jaxon Holm, Kai, Crew, Case and Cove DeBoer, Forest Aukes, Payton Aukes, Fallon Fraser, August Holm and Grant Holm. Last but certainly not least she leaves behind her beloved dog Sadie. Vickie is survived by many other family and friends who will remember her fondly.

Vickie was preceded in death by her one and only true love, her husband of 39 years, Dale V. Holm; her parents, Oscar and Donna Debban; her mother and father-in-law, Victor and Lorraine Holm; and her grandmother, Margaret Fiser.
