Betty Mohring

Betty Mohring, 96, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A funeral service for Betty will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Charles City with Erik Hoefer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City and continue one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Betty Leona (Mulder) Mohring, the daughter of Lambert and Bertha (Biekert) Mulder, was born on Aug. 18, 1928, in rural Floyd County, Iowa. She received her schooling in Shell Rock and then moved to the Nashua area with her family in 1943. On March 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Otto Christian Mohring at St. John Evangelical Reformed Church in rural Nashua. To this union two children were born, Wayne and Eunice.

Betty was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church and was very active with the Naomi Circle. She was also a Foster Grandparent. Betty enjoyed sewing, needlework, and quilting.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Janet) Mohring of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Mark Mohring, Eric Merrill, and Sara Merrill; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Ruby Mattke of Sumner, and Alice Jones of Mason City; along with several nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lambert and Bertha Mulder; husband, Otto Mohring; and daughter, Eunice Follmuth.
