Larry Adelmund
Larry Adelmund, 86, of Charles City, walked into the hands of Jesus on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City with his loving family by his side.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Larson from Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nashua.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. before the service on Thursday.
Larry Dean Adelmund, the son of Henry and Sophie (Thorne) Adelmund, was born on Sept. 6, 1938, in Parkersburg, Iowa. He graduated from Allison High School. On May 1, 1960, Larry was united in marriage to Earlyn Springer. To this union five children were born: Kimberly, Kori, Kay, Vicki, and Jerry. The couple later divorced. Larry then married Heleyne Buttjer on Dec. 11, 2004.
Larry’s younger years were spent on his family’s farm that instilled his hard work ethic. He later worked with house moving, hauling lime, and did whitewash spraying. He was also an over the road trucker for many years. He received many honors for safe driving and was awarded driver of the year for multiple years. Larry took pride in trucking and always kept his truck clean.
Larry was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing 500, and traveling down to Texas in the winter with Heleyne. Larry loved to sit outside on his porch and enjoy the sounds of nature and watch his geraniums grow. Most importantly, Larry’s mission in life was to provide for his family and cherished the moments he had with them.
Living family members include his wife, Heleyne Adelmund; children: Kimberly (Derik) Shields, Kori (Kevin) Sinnwell, Kay Clancy, Vicki (Allen) Rinken, and Jerry Adelmund; 4 stepsons; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings: Delos (Delores) Adelmund, Alvin (Judy) Adelmund, Wanda Buchholz, Carol (Duane) Stotler, and Kathy (Alan) Siemons; and sisters-in-law, Ruth and Rose Adelmund; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sophie Adelmund; son-in-law, Jeff Clancy; brothers, Ronnie, Lester, and Richard Adelmund; brother-in-law, Vern Buchholz; and sister-in-law, Gert Adelmund.
