LETTER: Brown has a heart for people

My husband Paul and I along with our 8-year-old daughter have gotten to know Waylon Brown through doing some volunteer work for his campaign. He works very hard and has a heart for people. We have seen this often, but one instance made a deep impression. Waylon had just finished canvassing the town of Rudd. I ran over there to grab some campaign materials from him. It was at this time that a couple from Minnesota pulled up and asked him if he knew where they might find the pastor of one of the churches in town. They needed some help. Waylon told them he did not know where the pastor was. Rather then send them on their way; he pulled out his wallet and gave them some money. They could never repay him. They can’t vote for him. I don’t remember that they even asked his name. They thanked him and were on their way.

Waylon Brown will work hard for Iowans in the State Senate because he cares about people; and he is willing to make personal sacrifices to help them.
