LETTER: Thank you for letting me represent you for 8 years

It’s been a privilege to represent you in the Iowa Senate over the last eight years.

Thank you for your letters, e-mails, phone calls and face-to-face visits. Your support and encouragement kept me fighting for working families, for students and schools, for sick and disabled Iowans, for a healthy environment and for a strong economy.

In a few years, I may not remember the bills we passed, but I will always remember the people. You entrusted me with your stories, your struggles and your concerns. I consider that the highest honor.

I most enjoyed working with you to solve problems. If we could fix something together, that was success to me—and we accomplished a lot!

I hope you’ll stay involved because there’s still much to be done. Your interest in improving our state will help Iowa remain a great place to live and work.
