Letter to the Editor: Need to invest in a new jail; vote ‘yes’ May 1

As an attorney practicing law in Floyd County over the past 40 years, I have had the opportunity to visit the Floyd County Jail on many occasions and am well acquainted with the condition of these facilities.

We have certainly received our “money’s worth” from these now outdated and inadequate facilities and we need to invest in a new structure.

Accordingly, I urge our citizens to support the proposal put forward by our County Supervisors and vote “yes” on May 1st.
