Letter to the Editor – Get in the Viva Charles City spirit for RAGBRAI

July 28th will be here before we know it and with it will come RAGBRAI and thousands of guests to our community.

No matter how you personally feel about RAGBRAI it’s hard to argue that it is a great opportunity to showcase all that Charles City has to offer!

As Charles City RAGBRAI Hospitality Committee chair, I would like to encourage everyone to get in the Viva Charles City spirit and purchase a Charles City RAGBRAI shirt. Shirts are available for $20 from Rustic Corner, T.J. Service, Otto’s Oasis, Cardigan, and the Chamber at 401 N. Main.

As July 28th nears, please consider being a goodwill ambassador for Charles City by volunteering to host riders or help on the day of the ride.

If you’re not able to host or volunteer, another great way to get in the spirit and make a great impression on our bicycling guests is to spruce up your lawn and consider decorating for the day with welcome signs.

July 28th will certainly be a busy day in town, but if we all work together we can help make sure that riders leave with a smile on their faces and good things to say about Charles City!
