Warriors roll on with win against West Fork
Warhawks can’t contain McGregor, Emma Staudt
The junior duo of Madison McGregor and Emma Staudt led the Warriors to a 49-35 victory against the Warhawks on Friday night.
A year ago, West Fork was crowned the Corn Bowl Conference champions, edging the Warriors out by just one game. The two teams split the regular season meetings, West Fork taking the first and RRMR claiming a convincing win late in the season.
On Friday, the Warriors jumped out early and never looked back.
Leading 32-14 at halftime, the Warriors played their “on the edge of out of control” offense, making quick passes and playing at a very quick pace.
Head coach Blake Hansen said earlier this year his team likes to cause chaos when it can.
Staudt and McGregor did their part to create havoc for the Warhawks, combining for 30 of the Warriors’ 49 points. McGregor had 16 for herself and Staudt contributed 14 points.
Staudt continued her dominance by hitting 4-for-6 3-pointers and stole the ball five times. McGregor contributed defensively with seven rebounds.
Junior Sarah Parcher brought in eight points with and had a rebound, an assist and two steals.
Parcher was also 1-for-3 from 3-point land.
Alyssa Staudt had six points for herself with a rebound and two steals.
The Warriors shot 50 percent from the floor — 20for-40 — and made 4-of-9 free throws.
RRMR plays Dec. 11 at 6:15 p.m. against No. 14 Northwood-Kensett at home.
