Huskies get 1-2 decision at Central Springs

The Huskies saw tough competition at the Central Springs quad Thursday night, where they came away with a 1-2 record.

Nashua-Plainfield was able to top Turkey Valley in a 60-12 defeat, but fell to Central Springs 43-27 and to Northwood-Kensett, 44-24.

Senior Jason Fisher had himself an interesting and successful night. Fisher was 2-0 at the 195-pound weight class, but was also 1-0 in the 220-pound weight class, after bumping up to fill a void.

The Huskies still lost in a forfeit in the 195-pound weight class.

Matthew Stille went 2-1 on the evening. He won one match by fall, one by a 10-2 major decision and then lost one in a 10-6 decision to Central Springs.

The Huskies will come back this weekend to host a meet with a plethora of schools. The young squad will hope for more numbers and better practices, according to head coach Al Frost.

Frost said earlier this season that there have been more wrestlers coming out for the sport this year than any of the previous years.
