GIRLS BASKETBALL: North Butler 48, Northwood-Kensett 46

NORTHWOOD — Jennifer Rottler was the only Lady Bearcat to record double-figure scoring during North Butler’s 48-46 win over hosting Northwood-Kensett.

“But this was a great team win,” North Butler coach Kevin Clipperton said after his team improved to 5-6 overall and 5-4 in the Top of Iowa-East Conference.

The Vikings, who were perched atop the conference going into Tuesday night’s game, fell to 9-2 and 7-1.

North Butler was down 38-31 going into the final quarter. “We started taking better care of the ball and made some plays,” Clipperton said of the fourth-quarter surge.
