Huskies earn first conference win
MANLY — With a 76-66 away boys basketball victory at Central Springs Friday night, the Nashua-Plainfield Huskies earned their first Top of Iowa-East Conference victory of the season.
“We needed it,” N-P coach Justin Eiffler said. “We had a real good week of practice, and I felt that we may be finally turning the corner.”
Zach Bond and Logan Hansen each had 17 points, and Alex Bienen scored 12 for the Huskies, who improved to 3-11 and 1-9 for the season.
“It was a one-two possession game until midway through the fourth quarter,” Eiffler said. “That’s when we started to pull away.
“Our guys just seemed a little fresher.”
The Huskies’ will host Saint Ansgar on Tuesday before traveling to Osage on Friday.
