Lady Huskies falter after good start

MANLY — Nashua-Plainfield came out the gate with a game effort to win its first Top of Iowa-East conference game in girls basketball action Friday night at Central Springs. But after leading 18-17 through the first quarter, the Huskies could no longer keep up as Central Springs won going away, 70-49.

Briley Fisher led N-P with 17 points, and Aubrey Bienemann added 14, which included 8-of-10 shooting from the free-throw line. But it wasn’t enough for the Huskies, who fell to 1-15 and 0-12 for the season.

Central Springs improved to 5-11 and 3-9.
