CC/N-P trapshooters showing steady improvement

NASHUA — The Charles City/Nashua-Plainfield trapshooting team hosted its first invitational of the season at the Nashua Fish and Game Club, Saturday with visitors from Osage, New Hampton and South Winneshiek.
Senior Aaron Wright notched the high score of the day among the representatives from Charles City, scoring on 47 out of 50 targets. Teammate Izzy Worrall trailed just behind Wright with a final score of 46. Junior Chaska Hunt had the high mark among Nashua-Plainfield’s shooters with a 46.
Other notables on the day included Shau Landt and Jacob Greenzweig of Charles City, who both hit 45 targets.
The highest team total of the day belonged to Squad 1 from Charles City, which finished with a final score of 219 out of a possible 250 targets. Members of Squad 1 included Wright, Worrall, Wegner, Sydney North and Carter West.
“I think they all shot well,” CC/N-P head coach Tim Laube said. “A couple of kids have really increased their scores. They just need to keep their cheeks on the pad and quit trying to watch the clay break.”
