Comets end skid against TigerHawks

ELGIN — Nate Lasher was 3-for-4 with a run scored, Theo Arndt was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Tyler Brockney drove in two runs, and Brady Sickman and Jordan Kapping each doubled, leading the Charles City Comets to a 10-3 non-conference baseball win over North Fayette Valley while ending a seven-game losing streak.

Drew Mitchell got the win after yielding seven hits and three earned runs in six innings pitched. Mitchell also drove in a run and scored himself.

Lasher pitched a perfect seventh inning in relief to close the game.

The Comets rapped 10 hits and played errorless defense while improving to 7-10 for the season. They will be back in action tonight at Sportsmen’s Park to host Cedar Falls.

Tanner Kuhens and Trey Kuhens each had two hits for the TigerHawks (15-13).
