IOWA CITY — Charles City graduate and current University of Iowa golfer Jessie Sindlinger won the 92nd Iowa Women’s Amateur Championship, Sunday at the Hawkeyes’ home course, Finkbine Golf Course.

Sindlinger shot a three-day score of 217 (1 over) while besting runner-up Alexa Capesius by six strokes (223). Sindlinger’s Iowa teammate Morgan Kukla placed third (227).

Sindlinger was runner-up at last year’s IWAC when it was played in Ames.

During her high school career, Sindlinger became only the second girl golfer in Iowa history to win four-straight individual titles (2010-2013) while helping the Comets win team titles in 2011 and 2013.

She will be a senior at Iowa where she will be the Hawkeyes’ No. 1 golfer.
